Custom process

What happens after you ask about a website?

For businesses considering a made-for-you website, this page explains each step from the first conversation through launch and handoff. Projects are inquiry-only. You receive the exact scope, price, timing, and payment terms in writing before work begins.

A website being planned and built across several connected work areas
Every visual choice has to support the words, the actions, and the business.

Six steps

  1. 01

    Understand the business

Share your customers, services, location, current site, problems, and desired result.

  2. 02

    List the work

Identify the needed pages, content, images, tools, and anything that must move from an old site.

  3. 03

    Set the direction

Choose a restrained, distinctive, or fully art-directed look based on how the site should feel and move.

  4. 04

    Design the site

Plan the page order, content, visual direction, phone layouts, and important visitor actions together.

  5. 05

    Build and refine

Build the real pages, test them, and use each included review round to refine the agreed work.

  6. 06

    Launch and hand off

Check pages, links, phone layouts, basic accessibility, tools, redirects, access, and agreed files before launch.

Before work begins

What will be in writing?

The written scope lists the work so the design does not quietly promise more or less.

It covers pages, sections, layouts, design level, tools, moving work, responsibilities, timing, payment, and what is not included. Later requests that change the job are priced and approved before that added work begins.

Responsibilities

Who handles each part?

Dates are confirmed after the scope is accepted and the needed payment, materials, access, and decision-maker are ready. Waiting for them can move the schedule.

Payment and ownership are set before the build.

Card and Card Plus, the one-page sizes, are paid in full before work starts. Site through Scale use half before work starts and half on completion. The agreed client deliverables become yours after final payment; the quote lists any exceptions. A customer-owned web address stays in your name; the quote says who handles provider access and renewal.
